Independent Health Consultant and Expert Witness
Professor Roger James is an independent Health Consultant with extensive experience of UK and international clinical governance, regulatory procedures, service development, reconfiguration and delivery, particularly in the field of cancer services.
He recently retired from the NHS with a background of 30 years experience as a Consultant Physician, with ten years as a senior clinical manager, including Deputy Medical Director of a large acute Trust (Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells: MTW) and Medical Director of the Kent and Medway Cancer Network.
He has performed reviews for NHS Gateway and is a clinical advisor to the Care Quality Commission (previously to the Health Care Commission). He is active in medico-legal work and a member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses, the Medical Defence Union and the British Medical Association.
In 2003 he worked with East Kent acute Trust during its service reconfiguration, advising on public consultation, submission to Judicial Review and to the Independent Review Panel.
